Group of family and friends met up in Eureka Springs, I think we had about 5 adults and 3 or 4 kids. Weather was nice so we sat out on the patio and were able to be seated right away. Waitress took our drink orders and they brought out chips & salsa. We got a couple bowls of queso, which I think might have been a white-cheese, it was different but good. Everyone ordered different things, and it was all good.... Nothing spectacular, but very solid quality. I would definitely eat there again. Sometimes our waitress would disappear for a while and with little kids sometimes when you need something you need it right away! LOL... But overall it was a pleasant time, we got to visit, and the weather managed not to rain. The only downer was even though we had little kids with us, and there was another family out there with little kids too.... One person (not with either party) decided they wanted to light up and smoke right in the middle of everyone... ugh... Not the restaurant's fault though.

We were in Eureka Springs on a Sunday at lunch. We tried to visit another restaurant close by and were told it was a 30-40 minute wait for a table. Other places looked just as busy. Then we saw Amigos. We walked in. It was almost empty. Obviously, people don't visit Eureka Springs for Mexican food (Tex Mex would be a more accurate description) and it wasn't our first choice--heck, we live in Arizona, so we have an abundance of good Mexican food around. But we were hungry and this was a cool place with a cozy, dark atmosphere. Worked for us. The server was extremely nice. The chips were good and the salsa had a quiet zing to it. The big TV played the Weather Channel and it was a nice backdrop for conversation with my in-laws. I ordered the tacos de fajitas with chicken. It reminded me of chicken soft tacos at Del Taco, with the addition of fajita fixins like bell peppers and onions. It was a little bland but not bad by any means--sure better than Taco Bell and a few other places. That verdict was repeated by everyone at my table--good and filled the stomach, but nothing extraordinary. The prices were low compared to a lot of sit down Mexican places, too. (Tip: if you Google "Amigos Eureka Springs Ar" you can find their Facebook page, which includes their menu.) Even though the service was a tad slow, we were still out of there in 45 minutes, so it was much faster than attempting to dine anywhere else. So if you're wandering Eureka Springs and just want good and basic food, this is definitely an option.

Fast service even on a Sunday night. The Paloma was terrible. Tequila and grapefruit juice with lime and jalapeño is my definition of a Paloma. I got tequila, squirt soda and a lime. I asked for muddled jalapeño and I got 3 pickled jalapeños on the rim. Fish tacos were great. Supreme nachos were okay, the salsa tastes like pizza sauce with cilantro.

Chips and salsa are very good. Salsa tastes freshly made. We had the cheese enchiladas, they were good, not great; and lunch beef burrito with enchilada and beef taco. Beef taco very good, burrito just ok. Would be better if had other ingredients than just ground beef. Over all very good. I Love Tex-mex and was very happy with experience. Outdoor deck nice too :)

Went for lunch early in the tourist season. It looked understaffed but we were still seated and served in a reasonable amount of time. The food was good tex mex and the prices were fantastic. Our family of 3 had a great lunch for less than $30 including tip.

If you are looking for a place to get in and out quickly, then this is not a place for you. When we arrived at the restaurant around 6:00 pm, there were only two waiters. Our waiter was the host, waiter, bartender, and bus boy. Needless to say, it took awhile to get our drinks and food. But we didn't mind the wait since we were on vacation. The salsa is wonderful! Every bite had a kick at the end, but it wasn't too hot. Our table had the stuffed chicken poblano, vegetarian quesadillas (yes, they have a vegetarian menu), and chicken quesadillas. Everyone said their food was excellent! I think everything was reasonably priced too. Our ticket included three drinks, and we ordered a cheese dip and two meals; our ticket was only $40.00. I would definitely eat here again when I come to Eureka Springs.

I've never been to a more terrible restaurant. Out of our group of six, three of us got food poisoning. We had the tacos de camaron, chicken quesadilla, and tamales. The service was just as bad. Our waitress took twenty minutes to get our drink order, and twenty more for food. The restaurant wasn't even busy. She scoffed at us when one of our people said he was allergic to cilantro, and when someone needed a fork, she came out with ten forks and spoons for this one person. Stay away, it's an all around hazard.

Great food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Great value. Bought Maria's Tacos (oh my gosh....you must try them) and my wife got Taco Deluxe and she like them. Our bill for meals and drinks was less than $20. Go try them. You won't be disappointed. Probably one of the best little eateries in ES for the price.

Get the cheese sauce! The best I ever had. We got the nachos supreme and the shrimp chimichanga. Both were great!

Great food! Lacking a little on atmosphere, but great service and exceptional food. Split the Maria's tacos, and guacamole appetizer. Drinks were also fantastic and everything is reasonably priced!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
